There is no denying that the practice of law is an interesting phenomenon, both inside and outside the courtroom. However, not many can – or choose to – pay a hefty amount, as well as invest their valuable time, into law school to experience that. The closest that one can get to being a lawyer, of some fashion, is by watching the ins and outs of the process through legal dramas. This genre has seen a huge surge in popularity over the last two decades, to the extent that it may become hard to differentiate good from bad. Up ahead are three legal dramas that are absolutely worth your time!
No good legal drama list would be complete without the mention of Suits. This is one of those rare shows that delivered a pilot episode so strong that there remained no doubt as to how good it’ll be. The absolutely wonderful chemistry between Harvey Specter and Mike Ross as they continue to take on the big guns of the legal world – from rival firms to the FBI – is always a treat to watch.
Next up is Better Call Saul, another installment in the Breaking Bad universe by Vince Gilligan. If Suits is all about successful lawyers practicing in the upper leagues, Better Call Saul is more about small-time practice. It primarily follows beloved character Saul Goodman’s life before Breaking Bad as he struggles to make ends meet as a rookie lawyer. If a more grounded narrative – that is largely on the gritty side – is your cup of tea, then this show is for you! It is recommended, however, to have seen Breaking Bad before you start this though.

Lastly, we have The Good Wife, a critically acclaimed legal drama that takes pride in its stellar writing and excellent research of legal principles and procedures. While focusing primarily on Alicia Florrick, wife of a disgraced State Attorney, the series includes a fairly sizable cast of talented actors that are a treat to watch as they practice the law.
