50 Year Old Popcorn Machine Feeding Nostalgia

There’s certainly no shortage today of competitors in the entertainment industry, between television, apps and games on our phones, and videos streamed into our homes. They are all just a mere click away.

A one century old, one screen theatre to be found in Lexington, Tennessee had decided to take a nostalgic approach in getting customers to keep on coming. They’ve done this by using a popcorn machine that’s an entire 50 years old.

According to Campbell-Watts, the popcorn marker, every business needs to do something unique in order to set them apart.  The popcorn sits in a kettle the size of a soup pot in a machine that’s even taller than he is.  They refer to the machine as It. It makes incredible popcorn, and the name was inspired by the Addams family, sort of like Cousin It is just hanging out over here kind of thing.

The family took over the theatre about two years ago, and many of the locals are overjoyed to have the place back in action with the same nostalgic feel with some large buttered popcorn (or two).
