87 Year Old Makes Masterpieces On Microsoft Paint

As children,  using the computer was seen as a privilege. It was something we didn’t get to do every day, and did not take it for granted.  Nowadays, children have pocket sized computers from a very young age. It’s safe to say that the novelty of having a computer has worn off.

Even when our parents prohibited us for using the internet, Microsoft Paint was always there for us.  The software was already installed on every computer, and was pretty much all of our favorite past times.  Despite our parents who pushed us to spend more time outside,  we still became professionals at using the program.

After seeing what 87 year old Concha Garcia Zaera has created on paint, we cannot even classify our designs as pictures.  This talented woman is from Spain and has studied oil painting, however was deterred by the strong smell of the products.  Several years after straying away from oil painting, her children purchased her a computer when her husband became sick and she needed to stay home with him. She discovered on her new computer Microsoft Paint, and found a that she could create seriously impressive pictures.

Zaera explains that although it’s quite time consuming and requires a great deal of patience, it’s not so difficult to create.  Generally, a piece of art takes her approximately two weeks to make, and she pays close attention to every detail.  She posted her pictures on Instagram upon the suggestion of her granddaughters, and now has more than 120k followers.  While many grandparents are afraid to touch technology, Zara has fully embraced it.
