It Couldn't Be Done

By Edgar Guest

Somebody said that it couldn't be done But he with a chuckle replied That "maybe it couldn't," but he would be one Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn't be done, and he did it!

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that; At least no one ever has done it;" But he took off his coat and he took off his hat And the first thing we knew he'd begun it. With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, Without any doubting or quiddit, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn't be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, There are thousands to prophesy failure, There are thousands to point out to you one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you. But just buckle in with a bit of a grin, Just take off your coat and go to it; Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing That "cannot be done," and you'll do it.

No matter what you do on your Friday nights, it’s safe to say that Jennifer Lawrence and Adele had way more fun. Get ready to feel all the fomo. Jennifer Lawrence has been living it up in New York City this past weekend. The actress met up with some friends at La Central, a new Latin American restaurant in Chelsea, for a relaxing lunch. But then later that evening, J Law and Adele partied hard at a gay bar in New York City.

Jennifer and Adele have been friends for years now. The bond between the two superstars goes back to 2013 when they first met at the Academy Awards. That night she took home the award for Best Actress in Silver Linings Playbook, but she had some other exciting things to share from that night as well. She wrote an essay for Adele in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People issue in 2016.

“I remember sneaking backstage while she performed ‘Skyfall,’ trying to squeeze a ball gown past a pile of ropes and cables just to get a little closer. See her from another angle as if to peek behind the Great Oz’s curtain.”

J Law has been an Adele fangirl since her 2008 “Chasing Pavements” album and has said that her 2011 “21” album changed her life. And their friendship has been adorable throughout the years. But in November 2015, squad goals history was made. The power duo added Emma Stone to their inner circle. Lawrence later revealed to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live: “I don’t know who picked up the check, it might’ve been Adele,” she said. “I think we all would’ve been like, ‘Adele, you’ve had a pretty good week.’ I’m sure we would’ve probably let her get it. What did we talk about? I don’t know, we talk about everything but work.”

So when they hit up the bar Pieces people got excited. They played drinking games and caused all sorts of ruckus. Adele took part in a drinking game in which she and three other players danced around a circular table with their hands held above their heads and when the music stopped they had to be the first to drink. Adele lost the drinking game so Jen jumper on her shouting, “how could you lose?!” to which the host yelled out, “Jennifer, this isn’t The Hunger Games!”

We love these two and hope they bless our newsfeed once again soon with their awesome adventures!
