The Backstreet Boys are without a doubt serious legends for all of us that were lucky enough to have grown up in the ’90s. We all know all of the words to their songs off by heart, we known (or at least tried to learn) the epic dance moves in their music videos, and we know every detail about every member of the dreamy and talented boy band.
Nick is of course the youngest of them all with the glorious blond mushroom cute. Howie has gone through several long hair phases and commonly dances shirtless for our entertainment. A.J’s goatee as well all know reached a new level in the 90s, and Kevin of course is the one with the super intense eyebrows. And Brian, last but not least had the red hair and hit most of the high notes in their songs.
We spent so much of our lives trying to learn about them, countless hours watching their videos until we learned every word, bought their every album, and even today after 20 years – we still recall it all. The songs are super catchy just as we remember them to be, but yeah we will have to admit the music videos themselves are slightly outdated. And since they’ve been around for so much, there’s an entire new generation of people who weren’t even alive when they were popular – which is a serious problem.
We’re not even talking about babies, there are fully grown teenagers who don’t know the significance of want it that way. In such a case, you make those that don’t know about the most legendary singers, learn about who they are and what they were all about.
In fact, someone actually brought these these teens together to show them everything that had missing their entire lives, and were shown some of the best music videos of all time such as Larger Than Life, Everybody, and Quit Playing Games with My Heart. They had a lot to say about the videos, and it hurt the Backstreet Boys themselves the hardest.
Most of the boys managed to laugh it off when they heard the teens say that they don’t know who they are, however Howie seemed rather distraught. Brian sang along to pretty much every song, which was heartwarming to see how passionate he still is about his work.
One of the most epic things said that was said ‘I only know them because of my mom’. Brian eventually realized that these kids were so young, he could even be their father. Further, after being criticized for their videos making no sense, Brian almost admitted that they agree.
They were less than pleased to hear that they were similar to One Direction. The teens also could not name of of the guys in the group, however one used Aaron Carter as a reference, saying that he’s pretty sure one of the guy’s is his brother.
If you’re a teen, please do your 90s pop homework!
