It might be winter, but that won’t stop us from eating ice cream! Listen, we all need little sweet treats now and then to keep our spirits high this winter season. Ice cream is a timeless treat, made to be enjoyed all year round. And so, to celebrate everyone’s favorite dessert, here are a few of the best ice cream shops in New York City! Enjoy!
Located in the East Village, Bay Ridge, Snowdays specializes in shaved cream, a blend of ice cream and shaved ice that results in a fluffy dessert. Actually, their Instagram says that they are the first shaved cream shop in New York City! Some flavors include green tea matcha and sweet milk. They also offer ice cream sandwiches bookended between Fruity Pebbles, Oreos, and Nutter Butters. Drooling.
Sugar Hill Creamery
The husband-and-wife team behind Sugar Hill Creamery opened their popular shop in 2017 to be a place for the neighborhood of Harlem to enjoy artisanal ice cream made from scratch. In addition to offering an array of flavors like Melba’s Peach Cobbler (peach with cobbler crumbler) and First Day Out (corn jalapeño with hibiscus blackberry), they also regularly host community-based programs throughout the year!
