The most common myth we have all heard is that box dyes are highly harmful to the hair. They are known to color the hair however because we are not equipped with the necessary information before dying our hair, we may burn it. This situation was again challenged during lockdown times when people decided to ditch salon treatments and conceal their gray hair colors by using box dyes.

One of the major reasons to avoid box dyes is because they are a universal blend of colors and dyes. This means that the dye is not personally curated for you. However, if you visit a hair professional he/she will personally design the procedure according to your hair type. Moreover, box dyes contain ammonia which is known to make the hair brittle and weak. Most hair professionals do not use products that contain ammonia at all.

However, hair salons also have certain disadvantages. Many hair technicians do not care for your hair and their only goal is that when you leave the salon, you are satisfied with your look. They don’t care about your hair damage, therefore, it is essential to visit a good hair technician that’s actually skilled in what they do. Moreover, hair technicians will also let you know about the aftercare which will help keep your hair fresh for longer.
