Has chunky jewelry left the market? You might remember people years ago flaunting elaborate jewelry pieces for example chunky necklaces, earrings, heavy bracelets, etc. You might have observed that lesser people wear such jewelry pieces in today’s fashion world. All famous jewelry brands started selling such necklaces a few years ago but recently, such pieces are barely seen in those stores. The market for such jewelry has gone down exponentially. People have not stopped wearing jewelry at all but they have adapted to wearing minimalistic jewelry pieces for example thin necklaces, small and dainty earrings, chain bracelets, etc.

We believe that such jewelry has left the market because designs were getting repetitive and different brands were selling the same products. Due to everybody wearing the same or similar techniques, the target market got tired of this fashion trend. Besides this main reason, all these chunky jewelry pieces have not been the most comfortable jewelry pieces as they tend to be significantly heavy. Moreover, these pieces can’t be worn with different fashion trends and outfits. The jewelry pieces that have taken over the fashion market are more versatile and can be worn easily. Moreover, another issue with chunky jewelry is storage as such big pieces require larger storage space. A significant advantage of having minimalistic jewelry is that it’s easy to store and is significantly lightweight. In some cases, these pieces lose some of their embellishments as well after which these pieces can not be worn with the same ease.
However, the statement an individual could make with chunky jewelry was much more significant than with minimalistic jewelry. There are some markets where chunky jewelry is still worn, for example, in South Asian markets. Maintenance and storage of such jewelry was always costly so it is advised to invest in inexpensive jewelry as that will help us stay updated with the current fashion market.
