Have You Earned Your Tomorrow

By Edgar Guest

Is anybody happier because you passed his way? Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today? This day is almost over, and its toiling time is through; Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word of you?

Did you give a cheerful greeting to the friend who came along? Or a churlish sort of "Howdy" and then vanish in the throng? Were you selfish pure and simple as you rushed along the way, Or is someone mighty grateful for a deed you did today?

Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast, That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed? Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said; Does a man whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead?

Did you waste the day, or lose it, was it well or sorely spent? Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent? As you close your eyes in slumber do you think that God would say, You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today?

Winter is here, which means it’s pretty chilly outside. When the weather gets cold, it signals us to pull out our favorite comfy oversized sweaters, slippers, and blankets. The thing that will warm you up best during this time of year is delicious warm drinks. Our favorite drinks that are sure to warm you up during these cold winter months are hot chocolate and tea. You can never really go wrong with the two, and the best thing about these drinks is that you can cater them however you’d like.

When it comes to hot chocolate, there are many variations, but the classic recipe is milk or cream and cocoa powder mixed together with sugar until it’s nice and creamy. Usually, you can spice things up a little with vanilla extract, cinnamon, and even peppermint. When you’re using the milk/cream/cocoa method, make sure to keep an eye on how much cocoa you put in. If you add too much to your taste (or if there’s too little liquid), just add more sugar or milk until it tastes right. That’s what the classic method is all about: finding a balance between your sweet tooth and your love of cocoa. Once you’ve got that decided, you can choose how to spice things up even further with additions like cinnamon powder or chili powder. To make it more creamy, feel free to add a bit of honey or whipped cream on top.

Tea is also a great option. There are many different types of teas, and they range in color and flavor, but all will help you warm up on a chilly day. For example, green tea, which has many health benefits. It also contains antioxidants that are both healthy for your body and help you stay warm.┬áMint tea, or peppermint tea, is great for sore throats. It contains antioxidants that can soothe the throat muscles. Mint tea also has a cooling effect on the throat which makes it more comfortable to drink in cold weather. There are also black teas which are often more soothing on the throat than other types of tea. They are not as light tasting as mint or green tea but a stronger flavor that many people enjoy drinking on cold days. Whichever beverage you choose, they’ll be sure to give you that needed energy boost.
