What comes to mind when you think of Pizza Hut? Perhaps some nostalgia of those nights spent with your family eating that dreamy thick crust pizza? Maybe those iron pizza pans larger than your face? Maybe the limitless ice cream machine with chocolate sauce and sprinkle toppings? Either way, your concept of Pizza Hut really only exists in your memory (and perhaps pictures too) unfortunately. Today, it’s just not the same as it once was. The founder of the Super 70s Sports Twitter account, Ricky Cobb recently created a thread about the nostalgia we all have for Pizza Hut, and it of course, instantly went viral.
Cobb’s Pizza Hut thread received over 95 thousand likes, and was retweeted nearly 21 thousand times! Clearly, the love for this childhood eatery is so real. In the twitter thread, people shared all kinds of nostalgic comments and memories about what Pizza Hut was for them back in the day. The memories that were shared as hot and fresh as can be, just like our favorite pizza. People commented about the iron pans, about the glassware, about bringing back the restaurant to what it once was, with the salad bar and bottomless drinks, and of course, also made remarks about bringing back the super affordable prices too.

These are just a few of many of the memories and dreamy requests that were made in the thread. As one tweet put it ‘Pizza Hut wasn’t just Pizza Hut, but it was a Pizza Home’. And while we all surely love and miss the Pizza Hut that once was, we do understand that the chain had no choice but to keep up with the times and update themselves accordingly. Nonetheless, however, they did a great job of staying true to their name for as long as they possibly could, and are even reported to only have changed their pizza recipe in 2019 after 40 years of following the same one.
