Caged Bird

By Maya Angelou

The free bird leaps on the back of the wind and floats downstream till the current ends and dips his wings in the orange sun rays and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage can seldom see through his bars of rage his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with fearful trill of the things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom.

Ever since the Ghostbusters movie came out in 1984, we’ve all been completely obsessed with both the movie, and of course, the iconic theme song.  Bill Murray,  Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Rick Moranis created something that had the potential to fail, into a legendary and timeless success.

With killing ghosts with lasers and containing them in strange boxes, it didn’t seem too promising in all honestly. But the way in which they did it, it worked perfectly.  The sequel to the movie, released 1989, somehow wasn’t as successful and loved as the first.

The cartoon spin-off, and remake that came out a few years ago did see success, however, people still, have been anxiously waiting for another movie with the same cast as the original.  And now, our lucky day has come!

Aykroyd has announced that Ghostbusters 3 is in fact in the making and is currently being written. He has even suggested that the same cast members will be returning (other than Ramis who unfortunately left us a few years ago).

Many fans are concerned that it won’t be the same without Ramis, who not only stared in the film, but also co-wrote it. But our fingers are crossed that the rest of the cast will pull it off, and that it will be just as good as the original.
