A lot has happened in Jamie Lynn Spear’s life since her days as Zoey Brooks. The Nickelodeon sitcom Zoey 101 aired from 2005 to 2008. The beloved show was about Zoey and her friends lives at a fictional boarding school, Pacific Coast Academy (PCA). Spears even recorded the shows theme song titled “Follow Me” which was actually written by her older sister, Britney Spears.
On January 9, it had been 14 years to the date since Zoey 101 premiered on Nickelodeon. The hit show earned the Nickelodeon network its largest audience for a television series premiere in eight years. The show became an instant hit.
After Jamie Lynn made her Hollywood debut in 2002’s film Crossroads and then was a featured performer on the television series All That. Britney Spears told Red Access in an interview, “I love my little sister and I am overprotective with her, and I don’t mind saying that.” But, like most siblings, they had their differences. “My sister is a handful. We are so different. It’s so funny- actually, she would be a lot better in this business than I am. Like her personality, she is Miss Diva. She is so full of herself, it’s so cute.”
Fast forward a couple of years to when Jamie Lynn was 16 years old and began dating Casey Aldridge. Then on December 20, 2007, Jamie Lynn announced in an interview with OK! magazine that she was pregnant with Casey. The couple had been together for two years. On June 19, 2008, Jamie Lynn gave birth to daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge.
She was happy to announce her engagement to Aldridge in March of 2008 after she was seen wearing an engagement ring. Then in March of 2009, the couple called off their engagement and ended the relationship. They gave their relationship another chance in August 2010 but ended it again in November 2010. And after all of this, her fans of Zoey 101 were disappointed in Jamie Lynn. After all, her character on the show was a “good girl” and had a good head on her shoulders.
Now that the anniversary of Zoey 101 had rolled around, Jamie Lynn took to social media to celebrate the date and clear the air. She tagged her post on January 9, “#it didNOTendbecauseofpregnancy #contractwasfinished”.
She also opened up in a TLC special saying, “I needed t go grow up, outside of the world’s view.” It also was easier to raise her daughter outside of Hollywood and away from the public eye. She has since reflected on her teen pregnancy saying, “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgemental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
Nowadays, Jamie Lynn is living a private life as a mom and couldn’t be happier. Throughout the ups and downs, the Spears family is resilient and closer than ever.
