Lady Gaga & Madonna’s Epic Photo & Friendship
Laura Lee - March 5, 2019

Anyone who is paying attention has known about the Lady Gaga-Madonna feud. The two music powerhouses have been at it for years. Madonna dissed Lady Gaga in a 2012 interview with ABC News nothing that her music felt ‘reductive’ and then taking a long, awkward sip of coffee.

Gaga’s 2017 documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, she has some real talk with her friends. “The thing with me and Madonna, for example, is that I admired her always and I still admire her no matter what she might think of me. No, I do. The only thing that really bothers me about her is that I’m Italian and from New York so, like, if I got a problem with somebody, I’m gonna tell you to your face.”

The two met in 2009 and they seemingly hit it off. But according to US Weekly, the feud began in 2011 when some Madonna fans accused Mother Monster of copying the singer. The track in question was Madonna’s “Express Yourself” and “Born This Way.”

Despite the drama between them, Lady Gaga has continued to sing Madonna’s praises. In December 2016, she tweeted about Madonna’s speech at the Billboard Women in Music event.

So, now that you’re all caught up, we can talk about the epic photoshoot. According to Time magazine, Lady Gaga and Madonna posed together at an Oscars afterparty. The two are featured hugging together smiling and laughing, putting any rumors of their longstanding feud to rest.
