Mrs. Doubtfire Is Ready For A Broadway Musical
Claire Miles - September 12, 2018

If you were a fan of Mrs. Doubtfire growing up in the ’90s, then you will be overjoyed to hear this news. The classic movie is in fact being turned into a musical, according to sources. And if it makes it to Broadway, then oh boy….

Robin Williams starred in this legendary 1993 movie, and his memory continues to live on, even after his death. Williams played the role of Daniel, a man who was in need of more time with children during a rough custody battle with his nearly ex-wife, Miranda. Daniel decides to take on the character of Mrs. Doubtfire in order to be the children’s nanny, and somehow his family doesn’t pick up on the act.

The movie is incredibly far-fetched, yet so sweet, making it the ideal movie for a musical adaption.  When Daniel longs for time with his family, it’s the perfect time for some slower songs. And of course, there’s got to be a massive cleaning dance featuring the nanny with her broom and vacuum cleaner.

The new musical is reported to be directed by Jerry Zaks, who has already won four Tony Awards.
