Happiest Days

By Edward H. Donnelly

I said to the little children,
"You are living your happiest days,"
And their bright eyes opened wider In innocent amaze.
For their happiness was so perfect,
They did not know it then;
"Oh, no," they said, "there'll be happier days
When we are women and men."

I said to the youth and maiden,
"You are living your happiest days,"
And into their sparkling eyes there crept
A dreamy, far-off gaze;
And their hands sought one another,
And their cheeks flushed rosy red;
" Oh, no," they said, " there'll be happier days
For us when we are wed."

I said to the man and woman,
"You are living your happiest days,"
As they laughingly watched together
Their baby's cunning ways.
"These days are days of labor.
They can hardly be our best;
There'll be happier days when the children are grown,
And we have earned our rest."

I said to the aged couple,
"You are living your happiest days,"
Your children do you honor,
You have won success and praise.
" With a peaceful look they answered,
"God is good to us, that's true: But we think there are happier days for us
In the life we're going to."

And if you can’t get enough of the Sanderson sisters then you’re going to be happy to hear that Disney has come out with an adorable, spooky pleasure: the Hocus Pocus Mug and Spoon Set. The mug resembles the Sanderson sisters’ iconic cauldron that they use to brew all of their potions. It’s also iridescent and features “It’s Just a Bunch of Hocus Pocus” in glittering gold script. The broomstick spoon is perfect to stir your pumpkin spice lattes with or just your casual potion, whatever floats your boat.
Disney also released a Hocus Pocus: The Game! This board game is all about players working together. The goal is to prevent the witches from completing their wicked potion before the sun rises, just like in the movie! The Sanderson Sisters will try to sabotage your game by casting spells, but you’ll get help along the way. The board games instructions say, “Under the light of a full moon on All Hallow’s Eve, you and your friends sneak into the old Sanderson house. On a dare, you light the Black Flame Candle- surely the old stories are just a bunch of hocus pocus. Before you know it, the Sanderson sisters have come back from the dead, ready to brew their terrible potion and suck the lives from the children of Salem. It’s up to you to ruin the witches’ potion and put an end to their terrible deeds forever!”
