Sears Is Coming To An End
Marc Gordon - October 16, 2018

For those that celebrate Christmas, then you surely know that the most exciting time of the year is when the Sears Wish Book would arrive in the mail.  It’s the time to start writing out your wish list of all the toys you’ve ever wanted.

The Wish Book is something that we could look at over, and over, and over again. Especially since most of us at the time didn’t even know what the internet was yet.  It was a tradition that went on for decades, and unfortunately, it seems as though it’s coming to an end.

After 125 years, Sears has filed for bankruptcy, after billions of dollars of accumulated debt.  They claim to be attempting to reorganize their finances, and only close down some of the stores, but we’re not sure what will be.

So for now, we’re best off remembering the Wish Book as the incredible treasure that it was.  We will always remember those fancy Barbies that our parents never agreed to buy for us,  those robots, the Nickelodeon toys, the Ninja Turtles….

Needless to say, whatever ends up happening with the fate of Sears, we will always have the memories of the catalogue.
