Selena Gomez’s New Song ‘Lose You to Love Me’

Selena Gomez dropped her latest single, “Lose You to Love Me” and almost immediately fans began analyzing every lyric.  “Thank you all for standing by my side through the highs and lows. I couldn’t do it without you all and I can’t wait to start my next adventure with you. Lose You To Love Me is out now,” she wrote on Twitter.

Fans were quick to connect the song to her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. As you know, Bieber is now married to Hailey Baldwin, but the Jelena romance was seriously talked about all the time. Now with this new song about a toxic relationship, some think its Gomez expressing herself and what actually went down in their relationship.

One of the key lyrics fans are pointing to is “Set fire to my purpose and I let it burn / You got off in the hurtin’ when I wasn’t yours,” which they believe is a reference to Bieber’s 2015 album, Purpose. Later in the song, Gomez sings, “In two months you replaced us like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it in the thick of healing.” This could be referencing Bieber’s getting together with Baldwin just months after his final breakup with Gomez in 2017.
