When it comes to summer accessories, we could all surely use a cooling headband this year. Even if we’re not hitting up the gym or going on a run outside, we’re all walking around somewhat in the scorching heat – and could never deny ourselves of some fresh relief. Cooling headbands are also a great way to cure an annoying headache. But it’s important to note that not all cooling headbands are created equally, and they all work in different ways to keep you cool (although you’re surely already very cool). For that very reason, you’ll need to explore all of your options before you decide which is best for you.
Some cooling headbands include a built-in cooling system, to provide you with instant relief and getting all wet from your sweat. Others, however, are designed with breathable materials that absorb the moisture and keep your sweat away – aka, keep you cool. They don’t, however, provide immediate relief. Those headbands that have a cooling system built-in can get cold on-demand and tend to be activated by water. That’s not to say though that those without the water-activated cooling system are just as effective – but it’s up to you to decide what works for you personally. In fact, those without the cooling systems are made with materials that can even protect you against dangerous UV rays and are also known to be more simple to use – since you don’t need water for them to be effective.
