Smart

By Shel Silverstein

My dad gave me one dollar bill
'Cause I'm his smartest son,
And I swapped it for two shiny quarters
'Cause two is more than one!

And then I took the quarters
And traded them to Lou
For three dimes -- I guess he didn't know
That three is more than two!

Just then, along came old blind Bates
And just 'cause he can't see
He gave me four nickels for my three dimes,
And four is more than three!

And then I took the nickels to Hiram Coombs
Down at the seed-feed store,
And the fool gave me five pennies for them,
And five is more than four!

And then I went and showed my dad,
And he got red in the cheeks
And closed his eyes and shook his head --
Too proud of me to speak!

Some books just have childhood written all over them. One of these would without a doubt be The Baby-Sitter’s Club.  It was a crucial part of all of our childhoods.  There were always new adventures for them, but we all had our favorite books.

Rumor had it awhile ago that a new Baby-Sitter’s Club TV show would be released.  As exciting as it sounds, there really isn’t anything quite like the original books. Well, thankfully, Scholastic has understood this and has therefore decided to create something for all of us nostalgic fans.

They’ve released a new box set of Baby-Sitter’s Club books, all with the original covers.  Yep, you got that right. No modernized girls, no fancy touch ups, all of them will have the same original look from when they were first released.

The set will include the first to sixth book, meaning you’ll get to revisit Kristy’s Great Idea, Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls, The Truth About Stacey,  Mary Anne Saves the Day, Dawn and the Impossible Three, and Kristy’s Big Day .

What’s even more exciting is that you can get the whole set for even less than $40.  These stories are completely timeless and we’re sure everyone will enjoy them just as much as they did as children.
