Celebrity fashion trends really took off this year. Whenever we need some inspiration for what to wear to our next party or just a casual Sunday stroll, we knew we could turn to our favorite celebs for some help. The big stars are usually first in line to receive the most recent and trendiest designer pieces, so we know whatever they’re wearing is the ‘it’ item of the moment. Whether it’s a new coat, jeans, or boots, celebs really hit some major home runs this year. 2021 was the year of chic comfort, and we were absolutely here for it. With people spending more time at home, it only made sense that comfort was the gold standard.
We saw some of our favorite celebs like Billie Eilish and Rihanna rocking puffer jackets like the ones seen on the Balmain and Rock Owens runways. We also saw a skyrocket of baggy jeans worn by Hailey Beiber and Katie Holmes. Accessories this year were about statement pieces and dressing up, like amazing sky-high platforms worn by Ariana Grande and Olivia Rodrigo. There were also some not-so-expected trends like Y2K-inspired sunnies, tiny vests, and dad caps, and small handbags. Forget throwing your life in a big tote and swap it with a cute purse that only fits your phone, mascara, and keys. Miley and Kim K are both huge fans of these minuscule purses.
One of our absolute favorite trends of this year was chunky Chelsea boots. These big shoes were seen on celebs like Cardi B and Selena Gomez. The shoe gives a boost of edge to any look. Along with boots, we also waved goodbye to skinny jeans, and thank goodness for that! The baggy jeans are just way comfier, but can still look put together with a more fitted top. We also can’t stop talking about the elevated pump. Sure, you risk breaking an ankle, but they look amazing and really take an outfit to the next level. Also, who knew sweater vests would be making a comeback. They aren’t just for your grandfather anymore and paired with a pair of jeans and a handbag can create the most effortless outfit. We hope 2022 brings on even more great fashion trends.
