In the fall of 1994, a little show was introduced on the new Thursday night lineup on NBC. For the next 10 years, those six friends would become so much more than characters written for a television show. They filled our lives with laughter, love, friendship, and emotion. After ‘FRIENDS’ ended in 2004, the everlasting legacy of the show was only beginning.
It’s been twenty-four years since the pilot episode aired, but the characters, the fashion, the stories, and the quotes have stood the test of time, and remain more relevant than ever in our modern lives. Here’s some of the memorable (and completely underrated) quotes that deserve the spotlight once again.
Rachel: How long do cats live? Like assuming you don’t throw ‘em under a bus or something?
Joey: Sure I peed on her. And if I had to, I’d pee on any one of you!
Joey: Here come the meat sweats…
Chandler: All right, kids, I gotta get to work. If I don’t input those numbers… it doesn’t make much of a difference.
Joey: You don’t own a TV? What’s all your furniture pointed at?
Phoebe: Come on Ross, you’re a paleontologist, dig a little deeper.
Chandler: It was summer… and it was hot. Rachel was there… A lonely grey couch…”OH LOOK!” cried Ned, and then the kingdom was his forever. The End.
Rachel: Oh, are you setting Ross up with someone? Does she have a wedding dress?
Rachel: Hey, Mon, look, I’m melting butter.
Monica: That’s great, Rach. You now have the cooking skills of a hot day.
Joey: That’s a great story. Can I eat it?
Chandler: I’m glad we’re having a rehearsal dinner. I rarely practice my meals before I eat.
Ross: I went to the tanning place your wife suggested.
Chandler: Was that place… THE SUN?
Rachel: You idiot!!
Chandler: I’m sure you’re right, but why?!
Rachel: Check it out!
Joey: What the hell is that?
Rachel: It’s a cat.
Ross: Why is it inside out?!
Chandler: When I first meet somebody, it’s usually panic, anxiety, and a great deal of sweating.
Joey: You hung up on the pizza place? I don’t hang up on YOUR friends…
Phoebe: I wish I could, but I don’t want to.
