If you’re anything like us, you’ve spent way too many hours on TikTok watching talented people dance, sing, and be all around hilarious. Sure, there are plenty of spot-on celebrity impressions circling around TikTok, but Shubha Vedula is probably one of the best. The singer and American Idol alum quickly accumulated 1 million TikTok followers since joining the app in March. It’s probably due to the fact that she can mimic the singing voices of famous artists to a t. Listen to her belt out “God Ia a Woman” and you’ll be so positive it’s Ariana Grande herself. Going by the artist name Shuba, she recently sang Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” while mimicking different stars from Celine Dion, Billie Eilish, Carrie Underwood, Amy Winehouse, and even Eminem. She told Popsugar she was inspired to use “Savage” because the anthem is so pervasive on TikTok and the lyrics are catchy too.

“Those words are so empowering, sassy, and unapologetic at the same time, and the flow is so easy to play with creatively,” Shuba told POPSUGAR. “Also, it’s just so funny to think of Celine Dion singing that she’s ‘ratchet.’ I think it made sense since it was also a song people were already connecting with on the app, so they already knew what the original sounded like and how to dance to it.” Shuba says TikTok for her is all about brightening her followers days. “I love to spread positivity in everything I make. My singing can’t cure cancer, but it can at least help someone escape for a little while when we live in such a crazy, high-energy world,” Shuba told Popsugar.
