These New $3,000 Nike “Jesus Shoes” Are Filled With Holy Water

If you’ve ever wanted to channel your religious affiliation through fashion then this is the news for you. We are here to announce that Brooklyn-based brand MSCHF made a thousand-dollar pair of Nikes that have been dubbed the “Jesus Shoe.” These kicks are decked out with holy water straight from the Jordan River, a crucifix, red insoles, and a Matthew 14:25 inscription. But that’s not all, they are scented with frankincense, which, according to the Book of Matthew, was one of the gifts the wise men brought to Jesus on the night of his birth.

If you feel like this is a bit too much, you are totally right. The brand’s head of commerce, Daniel Greenberg, told the New York Post that they came up with the idea as a way to drag “collab culture.” He’s referring to the Post Office x Forever 21 clothing line and the Arizona Iced Tea and Adidas line. The brand asked itself, “What would a collab with Jesus Christ look like?” and came up with these sneakers. If you needed yet another reason to buy these sneakers, then just know that Drake bought them.

The shoes were originally $1,425 but are all sold out now. There are select sizes available for $2K or $3K.
