Getting a tattoo in South Korea is illegal, but that doesn’t stop Koreans from actually getting inked anyway! There are lots of tattoo artists who break the law, opened up their own studio and create some gorgeous works of art. Tattoo artist Jonathan “JonBoy” Valena was intereingly a former youth pastor. He met Hailey Baldwin (now Bieber) when she went to JonBoy for her first tattoo: her parents’ wedding date in Roman numerals on her wrist. JonBoy said, “She got the bug.” Baldwin kept returning for more ink bringing along her famous friends like her now husband Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner. Jenner got a microscopic white dot on her middle finger. JonBoy quickly rose to fame becoming the go-to guy for teeny tattoos. He is an expert in creating tattoos inscribed with impossibly fine lines, a technique that has been perfected in just the last decade as equipment has advanced. JonBoy opened his studio in the Moxy Hotel in Times Square, New York City. Sorry non-celeb’s, you’ll have to wait a year for an appointment!
